Golf

The Mossel Bay Golf Club is known for having a view of the Indian Ocean from every tee. This 18-hole links-style course, with its large undulating greens, makes for an idyllic yet challenging round of golf.

Set on the edge of a magnificent coast, Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort is situated at the gateway to the Garden Route, taking pride of place amongst exclusive neighboring golf courses such as Fancourt, Pezula, Plettenberg Bay and George Golf Club.

Oubaai Golf Course is proud to be the first Ernie Els signature course in South Africa. The golf course design allows for a challenge to all levels of golfer and is a testimony to the talents of South Africa’s favourite golfing son.

Fancourt Golf Course (30 minute drive) is a premier golf estate in South Africa with several golf courses including the famous Links Golf Course, a world class spa and health club, numerous restaurants and a golf academy combined with several amenities. Play is restricted to Members, their guests and hotel guests.

Hiking Trails

What makes Mossel Bay so unique is that all five vegetation types of the Cape Floral Kingdom are present. Beautiful areas of Lowland Fynbos with patches of Limestone Fynbos can be viewed. Especially unique for a coastal town is the succulent Karoo element. The Afromotane Forests are found towards the mountains on the outskirts of town.   Hiking information here.

Historical Sites

Explore Mossel Bay on foot and experience the rich heritage of this magnificent town. The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex in the centre of town consists of various museums and sites of interest such as the Granary, Shell Museum and Aquarium, Maritime Museum,  Culture Museum, the Indigenous Garden and the Old Post Office Tree.

Garden Route Casino

The Casino is located on the beautiful Pinnacle Point, which opened in December 2002 and has gained tremendous popularity due to friendly attendants, excellent gaming facilities and enjoyable environment.

Game Drives

Botlierskop Pivate Game Reserve is situated on a 3000ha game farm and comprises of over 26 different species of animals and a wide variety of birds. Wildlife at the reserve includes the rare black impala, rhino, elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, mountain zebra and eland.

Cango Caves

The Cango Caves is one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculptured by nature through the ages – fascinating limestone formations in a wide variety of colours… an underground wonder world.

Cango Ostrich Farm

The ostrich farm is located in the lush Cango Valley, 14 km outside of Oudtshoorn. The farm environment is visitor & disabled friendly and easily accessible.
